Easy Rides, Backups and Disaster Preparation

Easy Rides allows you to capture lots of data, and it is important that you keep that data backed up. We recommend that in addition to traditional tape or hard drive based backups of your server, you back up your Easy Rides Database each day to a small flash drive and keep it in a secure offsite location. In addition to having a second backup, (you can never be to safe with your data) a database backup on an inexpensive flash drive can be very convenient in the event of a problem with your server.

Often in the event of a disaster, you are too busy to worry about recovering data, or your IT department has several departments with machines they need to work on at once. Or you might have no electricity in the area.

Whatever the disaster, be it a hardware failure, power outage, software problems, or anything else, as long as you have a copy of your database on a portable flash drive, we can help. If you can get to any internet connection, we can take the backup, restore it to one of our computers and host your Easy Rides database, giving you remote access to a computer with Easy Rides already set up on it. In addition, we’ll work with you to get manifests to your drivers via email or fax if necessary. We’ll do anything we can to make life easier for you when you have a disaster, but it does require an available backup for us to work up.
