Two More New Tutorials Available!

Mobilitat proudly presents two more videos, Adding Reruns and Suppressing Reruns!

These new videos are available along with our other videos, here. Both of these tutorials are easy to follow walk-throughs of the steps to add a rerun and suppress a rerun in Easy Rides! You can view them as many times as you want with the ability to pause, fast-forward, rewind or stop as needed.

We’ll be adding videos on more topics regularly and as Easy Rides changes and grows. If you have a great idea for an Easy Rides tutorial let us know so we can add it to our selection!

2009 GTA Annual Conference

The Georgia Transit Association (GTA) holds its annual conference each December. This year saw the conference once again in beautiful Athens Georgia! Native Georgians commented at length about the cold weather. We, having flown out of blizzard conditions in our respective areas of the country, found this very amusing!

Wednesday evening was the opening reception and casino excitement with Blackjack, Roulette, Poker and Craps tables. Winners redeemed their chips for tickets which were then used to win prizes. Daniel Foth, Vice President of Jordan, Jones & Goulding won our Kindle eReader tablet!

On Friday, Mobilitat provided lunch and conducted an overview session of the latest features and reporting capabilities of Easy Rides for interested Georgia clients. We look forward to returning to Athens again next year!

Mobilitat would like to express our appreciation to all who had a hand in this year’s conference!

2009 Alaska Transit Conference

We had a great time at the 2009 Alaska Transit Conference in October. We always enjoy seeing old friends and meeting new ones and we are especially exited that Alaska is working towards using technology to provide more rides. While in Alaska, we rode the Chugach Explorer from Anchorage to Wasilla and back again. It was a great experience!

At the conference, we had a drawing for a big screen monitor. Gerry Hope, Transportation Manager for the Sitka Tribe of Alaska was the lucky recipient. Gerry said, “I gave the monitor to my wife who works at the Sitkans Against Family Violence (SAFV) Shelter - and she loves it!” He also said, “Thank you for both your paricipation in the ACT Annual Conference and the wonderful door prize(s) to Mobilitat! I believe your business participation has a positive impact, especially in the dialogue with IT information systems Mobilitat has to offer.”

Miami County Public Transit

Miami County Public Transit

At the end of September, Miami County Public Transit went “Live” with Easy Rides Plus and I was on-site to assist. Miami County’s service provider is First Transit and their offices are located in an old brick orphanage (and later a senior home) in the outskirts of Troy Ohio. Many believe the building has a ghostly population of residents from the past. The first morning, I got there at 0400 in the morning and it was pitch black outside. The Miami County Public Transit office is located in town in what used to be the corporate offices of Hobart (of Hobart commercial mixers). I found both offices very interesting and enjoyable to work in – but it was the people that made it really fun.

I really enjoyed working with the dedicated staff at Miami County and First Transit. They are led by Elaine A. Carter who is the Public Transit Director for Miami County. Elaine has many good leadership qualities and skills that I was very impressed with. They will continue to improve service quality and efficiency, and I’m looking forward to seeing their progress as they do so.

In Miami County’s transition from their previous software to Easy Rides, they are realizing immediate results. Transit Director Elaine Cater has extensive experience with large software implementations as a Project Manager and had this to say about the implementation of Easy Rides: “Things are 1000 times better since going ‘Live’ with Easy Rides. This is one of the easiest implementations I have ever seen in my career and has yielded immediate cost savings. Easy Rides is already helping in a significant way. The training was great, Mobilitat was very flexible and was able to work within in a very strict budget environment.”

Each one of us here at Mobilitat tries very hard to provide the best customer service in the industry, and it’s always great to hear that kind of feedback from a happy customer. As they continue to gain proficiency in using Easy Rides and leverage the software to improve service and efficiency, I have every confidence that they will tell you that our product is as good as the service – and it looks like we’re off to a great start so far!

I would like to thank all of you involved with Miami County Public Transit for your hard work and dedication to this project. Although this may be the end of the implementation, it’s just the beginning of our working relationship. We’ll be working with you regularly to make the most of Easy Rides now, and in the future – welcome to the Mobilitat community!

Congratulations to Susan Sperl Ames, Associate Director of Training for Prairie Hills Transit of Spearfish, South Dakota, winner in the drawing for the Television at the DTA (Dakota Transit Association) Annual Conference in Fargo, North Dakota.
